Directions for Independent School
Entrance Examination (ISEE)

General Information
The ISEE should be taken by students in the 4th grade or above who want to
apply to independent schools. Many schools require the test as part of the
admissions procedure. If you do not know the schools to which you are going to
apply, you should take the test. If you do know, ask them if this test is
necessary.
Plan to take the test as soon as possible. The cost to register for
the ISEE is $78.00, and the late registration fee is an additional $20.00
Walk-in registration is limited and is not guaranteed, and there is an additional
fee of $30.00. You must call the test site directly to see if you can be
accommodated.

When filling out the registration and test forms, include the names and
codes of the schools that you have selected AND the Black Student Fund, code
090321. Please remember to read instructions carefully.
TEST DAY:
Be sure to:
1. Get a good night's rest.
2. Arrive 30 minutes before the test
is scheduled to begin.
3. Take your ticket - sent to you by
ISEE.
4. Take 3 or 4 sharpened #2 lead
pencils.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
- Use a #2 lead pencil to complete the application form or on line.
- Be prepared to see a lot of students, most of them will be white.Remember
to follow all directions carefully.
- Don't get upset if there are questions you cannot answer or if you do not
complete the test.
- No one can get everything right.
When filling out test forms, put the Black Student Fund #090321 in the column where
they request names of schools where test scores are to be sent, as well as the
numbers of those schools you want to receive the scores. You must put # 090321
in the space or we will not get your
test scores.
