2023-2024 Herb Block Scholarship

The Herb Block Foundation is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 Herb Block Scholarship for individuals attending community colleges in the Washington DC area. The Foundation has designed this unique program to offer financial assistance to students who lack the necessary financial resources to begin or continue part-time (at least six [6] credits per semester) or full-time attendance at any campus of the following community colleges:

Montgomery College, MD
Northern Virginia Community College, VA
Prince George’s Community College, MD
Community College of the District of Columbia

We intend to offer approximately 100 scholarships annually valued at up to $8,000 per academic year for students who plan to pursue an associate degree or a vocational certificate at one of the listed institutions. The Herb Block Scholarship will award “last dollar” scholarship money to community college students to support unmet educational costs including tuition, fees, books, transportation and campus-based health insurance only.The Herb Block Scholarship is open to US citizens, nationals and permanent resident aliens, students who have been granted DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) by US Customs and Immigration Services, and students who qualify for in-state tuition under the Maryland & Virginia Dream Act.Interested students can visit www.herbblockfoundation.org for additional information about the program and view a video that walks applicants through completing the application.
