OUR PROGRAMS

Annually, BSF enhanced K-12 educational experiences with programs, activities, and financial support. We reached students in independent, public, and public charter schools through in-person and virtual programs.

Students were placed in learning programs during school terms and summer breaks to lessen the financial burden on families. BSF engaged with high school students through DC's youth employment programs and consistently collaborated with non-profits and businesses to foster STEM education and youth development.

This summer, Patriots Technology Training Center (Patriots), working with BSF, will offer fifty students outstanding FREE summer programming that will expose Prince George’s middle schoolers to some of the most important STEM fields. The fields include Coding/Programming, Aerospace/Aviation, Video Production, Bio-Medical, STEM Careers in Video Games, & AI/Cyber Security.

What's Twinmotion?

Twinmotion is a visualization tool that utilizes Unreal Engine, developed by Epic Games, to create high-quality images, panoramas, fly-throughs, and animations of individuals, objects, products, buildings, cities, and landscapes with ease and speed.

The 2023 MathCounts National Student Video Competition

This year, we took the MathCounts National Student Video Competition by storm. Our dynamic team consisted of two middle school competition teams, each comprising four exceptional students. The teams, named
"Math Masters" and "Smarties," embraced the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

With veterans from last year's successful "Saints" team, they were ready to tackle any challenge that came their way.

Envisioning a Greener 🌱Tomorrow.

The Sustainable Solutions Summit challenges high school students from the Greater Washington area to develop sustainable business solutions for a brighter future. The event concludes with a pitch presentation to environmental and business leaders.
The 2026 Summit's dates are June 22 through June 26 daily at 9 AM through 4 PM, at the Courtyard by Marriott Bethesda/Chevy Chase (5520 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD).

DMV National School Choice Week


The Black Student Fund joins tens of thousands of schools, parents and children raising awareness of K–12 education options during National School Choice Week 2026, which will be held January 25th–29th  2027. In collaboration with independent schools, public and charter school educators and parents, BSF will present a DMV School Choice Celebration and a series of media events showcasing parent school choice.

BSF Summer Programs

During Summer 2026, BSF will offer an online math enrichment program for 20 middle and high school students. The program is for students seeking to advance or fortify their math skills. The program will include: online learning with the platform IXL; three math presentations demonstrating real world applications of advanced math; and participation incentives. Interested families should sign up here.

During summer 2026, BSF will offer an online college transition seminar. This self-scheduled online series of seven digital lessons is designed for students beginning their first year of college in fall 2026. Lessons will cover academics, college life and career. Space is limited to 25 students. Interested families should sign up here.
